Coaches

STA employs over 20 full-time coaches from many countries in order to provide players with a range of knowledge and experience.  A team of coaches including our 3 head coaches below.

 

Meet The Head Coaches Team:-

Erwan Nicolas Men's Head Coach & Sutton Scholarship Program Erwan was a National level player in France, with a French rating of 1/6. (UK 2.1). Played many tournaments in various regions and won a number of French Money tournaments. He Played in ITF tournaments as a Junior.

Coaching History:
Erwan has worked in tennis with the French Federation for two years and was required to worked at all tennis levels. Has a level 2 qualification in France and PCA qualified in the UK. Erwan has extensive performance coaching experience and has been coaching at county, regional and National level within France. Erwan also has been involved in some French coach education and was running a number of courses. Erwan was tennis Director of a large club in Brittany of 700+ Member. Recently he has been working for Tennis Australia and working with ATP and WTA touring players. Currently Erwan is in charge of Mens Tennis within the centre,

Neil Carter Women's Head Coach

New-Zealand native, Neil was a regular Top 20 junior player and went on to coach some of the top talent in New Zealand before coming over to the UK in 2005.

Neil works with the Academy’s top junior players and is now in charge of an intensive full-time tennis programme for some of the top Women in the country, working closely with Top 250 WTA player, Emily Webley-Smith and Juniors such as Lana Rush and Freya Christie.

 

Shaun Malcolm Sutton Tennis School & Junior Development Head Coach As a player, Shaun was part of the Scottish Squad for 6 years, under the guidance of Judy Murray. He then went on to play full-time before going to University. After graduating from Loughborough with a master’s degree in sports and exercise psychology…
